Bangaluru intercity train mishap : RSS Swayamsevaks active in rescue operations

13 February 2015.   RSS Swayamsevakes plunged into rescue operations just minutes after the Ernakulam bound Bangaluru – Ernakulam Intercity Express got derailed resulting in 10 casualties while leaving hundreds injured.   

The accident has been reported at Belagondapalli near Anekal town on the city’s outskirts around 7.35 a.m. Railway sources said that nine coaches derailed causing the accident. A senior railway official said, “Initial reports suggest a boulder may have fallen on the track.  

 

Hundreds of Swayamsevaks rushed to spot to engage in rescue operations and to assist the local and Railway authorities. More than 50 Swayamsevaks donated blood for the needy


Sethu Govindan , an RSS Swayamsevak and software engineer by profession, who was travelling to Kerala in the same train informed the local RSS cadre immediately, following which hundreds of Swayamsevaks rushed to spot to engage in rescue operations and to assist the local and Railway authorities.

 More than 50 Swayamsevaks donated blood for the needy. The RSS cadre has been working in cooperation with Govt officials and Police in the rescue operations. RSS Pranth Sanghchalak expressed deep condolences to those who lost their lives in the mishap.
